I watched an Olivier Roland’s video  and I learned good stuff.

We hear every day that it’s important to do a job that fascinates us. When you do a job that fascinates you , you will never work again but if you don’t do that, you will miss your life and so on. We hear that all the time.

Now, let’s look at it concretely. Look at the people around you and you don’t need to do a deep analysis. You just have to ask yourself this question : « Are the people I know passionate about the work they do ? ». The answer is : « It’s a tiny minority that does that ». There is often a big gap between theory and practice.

I encourage you to dare to realize your dreams. I encourage you to take baby steps forward everyday to live your dreams. Realizing a dream is not just about being fulfilled. From the moment you do a job that your are passionate about, you have automatically and mechanically by a pure leverage effect, bring more values to the world.

Having the skill is very important and we can have people who aren’t passionate about their work but who are very competent. But between 2 people who have the same skill, it’s always the person who is the most passionate who will succeed to transmit the flame, to make you have sparks on your eyes, to make you dream and maybe to motivate you to do a project that you hesitate to do that will change your life.

It’s this passion that will create maximum leverage on the rest of the world and bring something beautiful, new, artistic. It’s important and we need to do something we’re passionate about. I can even say that it’s a duty for the rest of humanity and I will explain why.

Everyday we see people who are passionate about their work and people who aren’t passionate or who hate their work. When we meet people who aren’t passionate or hate their work, it is felt in each of their gestures, in each of their eyes, in each of their words. Everytime we meet people like that we feel a bit sadness, disappointment and frustration.

These people don’t like their work but the problem is that these people don’t like their work so much that they make us hate this job. We all had teachers at school like that. This teacher who doesn’t like his/her job and perhaps also the subject he/she teaches and the consequence is that the majority of the class hate the job of teacher and the subject he/she teaches (and it’s hard to have a good grade with these teachers). Do you remember those teachers ?

I know that isn’t easy. It’s always difficult for me today but instead of staying with your friends complaining about injustices in your city by drinking alcohol and smoking weed after school or work (yes, I was like that), use this time to take a step towards the realization of your dreams. What’s cool with internet is that we can easily do a lot of things like learning a new skill , get a freelance job online , having a blog, a podcast, a Youtube channel or selling things on Amazon , eBay  or Shopify .

If you hesitate to create your dreams, say to yourself it’s not a question of being happy and being fulfilled. It’s about bringing value to the world, bringing a smile, a spark, an energy to the world.

Work Effectively And Earn More (Part1)

I watched an Olivier Roland’s video  and I learned good stuff.

Everyone wants to work more efficiently to save time and make more money. There are 2 books to learn how to do this and I’m going to do a synthesis of 2. Maybe you already know theses 2 books, it’s « 4 Hours Workweek  » by Tim Ferriss  and « The One Minute Millionaire » by Mark Victor and Robert Allen.

Before you start, it’s important that you know that there is a special relationship between time and money. The idea is to better manage your time in your day to make your money work for you and make more money. There are several actions to put in place to do this and these actions based on 3 laws :

  • Leverage – Leverage gives you the speed to reach your goals faster. With a lever, you can control several elements. There are 5 types of leverage in 5 forms. We’ll see this in detail.

  • Pareto’s law.

  • Parkinson’s law

Let’s start with the leverage and its different points of support. There is a very interesting quote from Archimedes :

« Give me a place to stand, and a lever long enough and I will move the world »

Leverage allows you to reach your financial goals more easily and quickly. The higher the fulcrum is, the higher you can go up and far.

Money from others

Very useful in the real estate because the money of the banks and the tenant can allow you to have an additional income and a heritage. This heritage is largely financed by the money of others.

Skills of others

By meeting professionals who have more experience than you and mentors on your professional field, you can follow their examples. This allow you to access years of knowledge in a very short time, and avoid making mistakes that can cost you a lot of money and waste a lot of time.

Ideas of others

Find a partner who is willing to share ideas. For example to create your business instead of reinventing the wheel, you can join a franchise network to use and implement a business model that has been proven.

Time of others

Use the skills of someone who has more experience than you, by this way you can save. Delegate tasks.

Work of others

Support a team that is capable to manage things for you without you need to give last minutes instructions. Create a team with a list of instructions so that they are as autonomous as possible.

Mentors

Mentors are an incredible source of information. Select the people who inspire you from the people who have succeeded in the field you want to master.

Team

It’s known to many we can accomplish more than alone. A team makes it possible to work in synergy and to find solutions more quickly. Find people who have the same values as you and who have complementary skills.

One of the best example of a successful team is the team Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs who together created Apple. Steve Wozniak is a computer genius, he created the first Apple computer, the Apple 1 and he largely created the Apple 2 that made the success of Apple. Steve Wozniak is a very nice person but at the time, he didn’t have the skills to sell these computers. Steve Jobs was a sales genius but he didn’t have the skills to create these computers.

Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs separately have never been able to create something as impressive as Apple, the association of these 2 people who shared the same values and the desire to offer people computers easier to use have marked the history of computer with Apple.

Networks

The more professional relationships you have, the greater the leverage will be. Grow your network in the areas where you want to share and work.

Skills and tools

Having essential tools to reach the goal and mastering the operation of theses tools increase success. Skills to master are the power of persuasion, rhetoric and humor.

Systems

Using a good system increases the chances of success. To make money, there are millions of systems (there are so many on internet). The perfect system has 5 characteristics :

  1. No need to liquidity

  2. No risk or little

  3. Require no time

  4. Require no management

  5. Require little effort

The truth is that is very, very, very difficult to find an investment system that has these 5 characteristics, but you have to try to get as close as possible to work less and earn more money.

Pareto’s law

Parkinson’s law or the 20/80’s law discovered by the economist and sociologist Vilfredo Pareto. This principle explains that 20% of the countries of the world share 80% of the wealth and that within these countries 20% of the people share 80% of the wealth. Here is the basis of this principle : « 80% of effects come from 20% of the causes », which means that a minimum of causes create a maximum of effects. Always try to identify in your actions or in your company, the 20% of actions which bring 80% of results.

Parkinson’s law

Parkinson’s law discovered by historian and essayist Cyril Northcote Parkinson. This principle explain that the work extends so as to occupy the time available for the completion of a task. For example, if you put 2 hours to do a task that can be done in 1 hour, you still go for 2 hours. To have more time, we must force ourselves to have less. The basis of this principle is to do a task at 50% or 75% of the recommended time to do it.

In this section, we saw leverage, Pareto’s law and Parkinson’s law. In the 2nd part, we’ll see the 5 actions to be effective and the 4 actions to make more money.

The Reasons For An Asymmetric Body (Part 1)

I watched a Jamcore DZ’s video  and I learned good stuff.

When I look in the mirror, I see that my right biceps is bigger than my left biceps. And I also see that my left calf is bigger than my right calf. I think you too, you have weak points and an asymmetrical body like me.

I tried several technique to clear the weak point of my left biceps by doing more reps or lifting heavier with my left arm. But it didn’t work as I thought and I realized that there were even more factors that caused my asymmetrical body.

You have to know that there are real weak points and false weak points. And yes, there are 2 type of weak points.

Past sports

These are the sports that you have done regularly before you train seriously at the gym. For exemple, I played soccer for 2-3 years so I developed a lot of my legs and calves. I have been doing karate, kung-fu and taekwondo for years (I have more than 15 years of martial art) so I developed a lot my back, my arms, chest and my abs. My past sports allows me to develop all these muscles (calves, legs, back, arms, chest and abs) even more easily.

Now I’m going to tell you about the difference between a real weak points and a false weak points. In my case, I have nice abs, nice, chest. My arms are correct (I have one arm bigger that the other) and my legs are correct (I have one leg bigger than the other).

For example, a soccer player or a cyclist will use his/her legs and calves more often. A boxer will use his/her arms, back and abs more often. This shows that the past sports is important in muscle development because people developed more rapidly the upper body’s muscles rather the lower body muscles or the reverse.

So don’t worry because absolutely everyone has an asymmetric body (if you know a person who has a 100 % symmetrical body, attention, it’s a robot).

It’s the moment to go to the higher level. Now, you understood that there are people who can easily develop the upper body’s muscles rather that the lower body’s muscles or the reverse. In both case, there is the same problem : an asymmetry.

We’re human beings, we are not perfect and that is normal. Professional bodybuilders also have an asymmetric body like you. It’s for everyone like that. When we look at the mirror, we have a more developed part than the other.

Here are the causes.

Because of your bones, there is one side of you body that can lift easily heavier weights that the other. So the side muscles that can lift easily heavier develop faster.

A) clavicle length

We all have a longer clavicle than the other. Take you time, check the length of your clavicles, you will be surprised. When the clavicle is longer, this affects the leverage when you lift weights. This means that it boost your strength and your muscular growth.

But, there is a solution to avoid that there is a big difference between the 2 sides. It’s learning to isolate and feel your muscle. I use a technique called « magic touch ». Before doing a set, I touch with my fingers the muscle that I have to work. This allows me to be focus and stay focus on muscle sensations. This is to create the connection between my brain and my muscle.

This is why it’s important to take light weights to learn how to perform a movement to learn the muscles sensations. For example, bench press. There are people who use too much shoulders when the arms are straight. Bench press is an exercice to work mainly chest and not shoulders. So pay attention to your muscles sensation when you to an exercise and adjust.

B) Short and long muscles

This is really a genetic case. There are people with short muscles or long muscle. Take as an example a short biceps and a long biceps.

A short biceps responds slowly to training because the muscles is less close to insertion with the joint.

A long biceps respond quickly to the training because the muscle is closer to insertion with the joint.

As you can see, there are some similarities with the clavicle’s length. When the muscle is long, it’s easier to develop the muscle.

This is something you can’t change and doing an operation to lengthen your muscle is useless. It’s your genetics that decides whether your muscles are short or long.

Wait, it’s not over yet, there’s still plenty of other things in the genetics that influence muscle development. In your training, you can use several techniques to stimulate your muscle fibers like « High Intensity Training » . Dorian Yates (6x Mr. Olympia), used this technique during his career as a professional bodybuilder. This technique stimulates muscle fibers even more that hypertrophy .

There is also nerve genetics. It’s the ability to isolate and feel the muscle you’re working on. It’s an ability that improves only with experience and time.

Leverage Bench Press

I read a Frederic Delavier’s book « Strength Training Anatomy » and I learned good stuff.

Lying on a horizonzal bench with your butt glued to the bench and your feet on the ground :

  • Inhale and press

  • Exhale at the end of the movement

This guided exercise works the pectoralis major, mainly the sternal parts at the end of the movement. This guided exercise also work a little bit the triceps and anterior deltoids.

Variant : By pulling out your chest and arching your back, you work more the lower part of your pectoralis major (chest). But beware, this technique is harmful for people with back problems.

Hack Discrimination

You company can help you to avoid discrimination. Discrimination is something real in our society. According to skin color, country of origin, sex, diploma, etc, you may be victim of discrimination. People can refuse you to hire, be paid less or not evolve at the same speed as the others, etc and it’s often insidious. Nobody will tell you in front but it’s in the thought of people.

Create your company is one of the best way to hack discrimination and to ensure that you suffer less of this discrimination.

Look, when you use a product or a service from a company, do you ask to see boss and employee diplomas ? No, because you see that this company is effective and it meets your needs.

But when you’re looking for a job, you know that diplomas are important. If today, it’s hard to you to find a job you like because you don’t have the diploma or you stopped school too early, create your company allow you to hack this problem efficiently.

Attention, there are some domains where this hack doesn’t work like medecine, lawyer or notary. Diplomas are necessary for these protected jobs but it’s a minority of jobs in relation to all jobs of the world.

Let’s be clear, it doesn’t mean that discrimination will disappear by magic. By exemple, if you’re in a racist or sexist environment that you’re employed or that you created your company, you will have the same problems but there is a way to have a company which greatly reduces discrimination. Create a company on internet, an internet company.

Create an internet company help to reduce discrimination because people doesn’t ask to have face-to-face interaction. You can sell in the whole world and you don’t have to put your picture on your website. By this way, you hack discrimination. Even if you choose to developp your « personal branding », you have a huge leverage in the whole world that you help you to hack effictively discrimination.

It requires to have an entrepreneur’s mindset, take matters into your own hands and move your ass.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t try to change society but changes in society take decades. Here you have a concrete solution to reduce discriminations that keeps you from evolving as fast as you want

Contractions ? Better muscles ?

What is your goal at the gym, lift the heaviest weight possible or have volume and be dry ?

For me it’s to have volume, be dry and have power, otherwise I would do Powerlifting. To achieve this, I focus to get the highest quality of muscle contraction on each rep.

For example for the curl, I tell to myself that I contract my biceps to move my arm rather than I move my arm to move the weight, it changes the whole mindset. Once a coach has helped me and during reps, he tapped me the muscle that I had worked to stay focused on it. I tell you, congestion is not the same you’ll be surprised.

This is something that is learned as the technique. At first, the ideal is that you start with lightweight to feel your muscles during movements. Then you increase the weight in each series. When you can’t feel your muscles working, it means the weight is too heavy, it’s necessary to decrease a little so that you can feel your muscles work again.

Biomechanics experts often speak of the benefits of leverage with your muscle and you can do it, lift heavy with minimum effort but we want the opposite. For example your shoulders, more you bent your elbows on lateral raise or fly and more it’s easier to raise the weight. But when you stretch your elbows just to be slightly bent, chest and middle delts are forced to work harder and your muscles will grow faster.

You surely already know, the more you do the exercise slowly, the harder it is. Slow down the speed improves the concentric and eccentric effect, which allows to have optimal contraction. I don’t mean you should do all your exercises in “slow motion” but do some sets like this can help you to have better results.

A technique used by bodybuilders is to keep your muscles contracted for 2 seconds at the end of each rep. I warn you, if it’s something new for you, may be you can’t be able to do your usual number of reps, you’ll really really feel your muscle there.

I’m never going to say to abandon barbells and dumbbell for cables equipment but this is an excellent complement. The constant tension on your muscles with cables boost the quality of each contraction.
