Stop A Bad Habit

You know, I had a lot of trouble stopping my worst bad habits. It was bad habits that sabotaged my life. Many people around me have the same difficulty I had because unfortunately nobody showed them a conscious step to stop these bad habits.

Think about it, eating healthier allows you to have better energy, better body weight and live longer. Just eating less pre-prepared meals and replacing that with healthy food allows you to avoid having hundreds of bad calories in your body and this make a huge difference in the long term.

It’s a concept that used in all fields of your life. I think you know the consequences of smoking and not playing sport ?

My old bad habits

Ok, I see you need to see concrete things so I’ll tell you the bad habits I stopped :

  • When I was 15 years old, I started smoking weed (marijuana) and quickly I smoked bong or water pipe several times a day. I stopped smoking when I started to train to have a body like 50 Cent. And after, I realized that I was smoking weed (marijuana) to get away from my daily worries. It was like pressing the « Pause » button several times in a day.

  • For several years, I have only read heroic fantasy’s books (Hawkmoon, Elric of Melnibone, etc) and no personal development’s books. It’s not a bad idea to read heroic fantasy’s books but read only that, it’s just entertainment. When I started reading personal development’s books, I realized that I had lost years of knowledge, references, tools, methods that today would be extremely useful to me. Fortunately, it’s never too late.

  • For several years when I was doing Karate or Kung-Fu, I had a bad diet. I only ate pre-prepared meals, pizza, fat foods, sweet drink, candy and I didn’t like vegetables. Today, I have a better diet and I’m proud of the result. Since I have a tool that allows me to have my diet under control, it’s MyFitnessPal  on my smartphone (except for my Saturday’s cheat meal)

I like seeing the reaction of people when I explain to them what I eat at breakfast : rice(or pasta) with meat(of egg) and vegetables. I don’t know why breakfast is very emotionally loaded while this is the easiest meal of the day to change. When you only have healthy food in your fridge and in your closets, you have no choice to have a healthy breakfast.

It may be because of childhood memory that people like to have sweet things at breakfast but our bodies are evolving and we need to feed them differently. A child and an adult don’t eat the same amount of calories to be operational.

Wait here is another bad habit that I stopped. I used to play video games for hours. Sometimes with friends we played more than 8 hours non-stop. Once I invited many girls to my condo to do a « before » with my friends before going to the club. We decided to take the bus (public transport) because we wanted to drink a lot of alcohol.

The problem is that with my friends, we were too focused on the video game and we missed the last bus. The girls had gone crazy and they made us understand that it was the last time we (me and my squad) did this (especially an ex-girlfriend, it was sex versus video games). Since then, I haven’t completely stopped paying video games but I play much less because I don’t buy the new video game console.

I guarantee you that having stopped these bad habits had an incredible impact in my life.

Now I have a question for you. What bad habits you want ? What bad habits can you replace with a good habits ?

I advise you to make a list of bad habits you want to stop. When you have chosen the bad habit you want to stop, put in place a simple action to stop it. You can’t stop a bad habit in one night. You need to have a constant simple action to have excellent result.

For example :

  • If you want to eat more vegetables, you can use this grandmothers tactic that is to eat vegetables before dessert.

  • If you want to watch TV only for 1 hour, read a few pages of a personal development’s book.

Dispersing In Several Projects

I know several people who explain their projects and 6 months later, they explain a new project and so on. I think you know people like that too.

It’s a problem that happens very often and to understand that, you have to see the 3 steps of a project.

Fist step – start

This the excitation step. You discover project’s elements and everything is wonderful

Second step – crossing the desert

This is the step where you understand that you must give a lot of effort for little result. What is frustrating in this step is seeing people who have many years of experience doing incredible things easily while your work like crazy to do a basic thing.

Third step – experience

This is the step where, thanks to the experience you accumlated in the crossing of the desert, you begin to master the elements fo your project to make better progress.

What happens is that there are a lot of people who addicted to the first step : start. This is understandable because it’s in the step where everything is wonderful. When it’s necessary to go to the second step : the crossing of the desert, these people find a new project to redo the frist step.

Changing project for all the time to stay in the first step is a type of intelligent procrastination. These people avoid every second step, they want to have excitement without having the disadvantages of being persistent in something.

In this case, intelligent procrastination is about giving you a good conscience by telling yourself and others that you’re doing something positive for your project. But inside, concretely, you avoid doing the most important things to do to advance your projet. For exemple, you worked for months designing your Amazon website (this looks like a good idea) but since the creation of your website , you have done only 2 sales (it’s really a problem).

Projects are means to reach your final goal. The first thing you need to do is to determine your final goal and then select projects to do to achieve this goal. For exemple your final goal is to become a successful author and your project is to have a blog where you’ll write chapters of your book.

Becoming conscious of your final goal is important but it’s not enough. You need to take action to complete your project because therse projects are just means to reach your final goal.

There is another phase, it’s that after a certain time, you need to select a minimum number of projects. Successful entrepreneurs are entrepreneurs who know how to say « NO » and it’s really important. You can’t succeed in all project in your life.

How to select a promising project ? This is what you’ll want to know during the first step : start. This is the start step that will let you know if you’re ready to go to the second step : crossing the desert. It’s obvious that there is always a risk in the choice of a project. That’s something we can’t avoid at 100 %

One way to have more perseverance is to have organization, increase the strength of will and increase discipline. These are elements to work on a daily basis.

I know what you’re gonna say : « What ? Meditation ? it isn’t for me this stuff ! ». Yet I’ll advice you interested in that because it allows you to use your superpowers. Yes ! You have superpowers and to be able to use them, you must learn to use your subconscious and the most convenient way to do, it’s meditation.

I’m sure you’ve already read studies in newspapers/magazines that explain meditation’s benefits. Maybe you don’t believe or rather that you find it ridiculous. I’m not lying to you, my friends laugh of me because I do meditation but they always ask me why I’m in a good mood and never sick while they live the opposite.

If you have problems like :

  • Too much weight

  • Lack of self-confidence

  • Stress

  • Sleep problem

  • Pain

  • Cardiac disease

  • Depression

  • Cancer

  • Blood pressure

Meditate ? But how ?

It’s like training, it’s necessary that you try several meditation’s types to find out which corresponds to you. After many test, the one I like to do is Tai Chi, meditation in motion. And as I adore martial art, it was logical. To you to find, there are tons of courses on YouTube or smartphone’s app.

I do meditation in the morning after waking and before bed in a room as quiet as possible. I do this from Monday to Friday, it’s the training of my mind. Weights is my body’s training and meditation is my mind’s training.

Take deep breaths allows me to be more aware of myself, it’s as if I had contact with every cell of my body. And when I feel in touch with my inner self, I repeat two affirmative sentences. My meditation lasts 10 minutes and it’s enough.

These affirmative sentences allow me to be consciously happy and serene. To you to find your own sentences to prepare yourself to have a good day and a good night.

Your Life Reflects Your Thoughts

If you have a real vision, a real dream, cultivates it, put it in your heart, in your mind, be obsessed with it. You are your thoughts. In your life, good things don’t happen because you’re a good person, it happens because you wanted in a conscious or unconscious way. Your life is a manifestation of your thoughts. When you’re obsessed, when you think only about that, you attract it in your life. When you think to be happy, you’re happy, test.

If your vision or your dream is a career in the fitness industry, be obsessed with it. Includes people in your dream, this is what I tell people who want to be part of my team : « Listen, if your vision or your dream doesn’t include helping others, your vision is too small. I’m not interested ». There are people who have a phenomenal physics, it’s the world class but all they do, it’s make selfies to show their abs and that’s not interests me.

I don’t want that new generations see these people and say this is what is being a man or a woman, show abs all day. It doesn’t mean anything, a homeless person can have abs. Abs aren’t a goal to have a healthy body but on Instagram people make believe anything.

People like Instagram with filters, everyone thinks it’s raw pictures. The person took the photo the day after the competition and displays it on Instagram 6 months later and when you see the person in real life, it’s not quite the same.

Be obsessed with your goals, your dreams to help people and not by something that makes you look cool. Everyone is beautiful, no one is more beautiful than another, it’s subjective and it’s not important. What you have in your head and in your heart, that’s what is really important. I’m a pessimistic person because sometimes I look people and I say : « Why are you doing this, tell him something to help ? ».

I guess when you think fitness industry, everything that’s inside is healthy but the truth is that in many ways it’s unhealthy, especially mentally. It’s like the guy’s story who a few days after the competition had taken diuretic for his rendez-vous with a girl (everytime I think back, I tell myself that it’s not possible), it’s sad.

Sometimes I drink Coke, beer, rum, I eat biscuits but I’m trying to eat healthy as much as possible. You never see me on Instragram with a huge pizza because I don’t want a person sees this photo and say : « Ah I also have a slow metabolism, I can do the same ». I want people to be responsible for contents they place. I do it as often as possible to give to people great information.

I had a chat last night with an old entrepreneur who has retired. He told me his life and give me some advice. I want to share with you what I understood.

You can make mistakes, make mistakes is a good thing. The difference is a wise person learns from his mistakes and a stupid person will repeat the same mistakes again and again. That’s why you have to be careful, you have to be aware of that.

What I mean is that no matter what you chose in your life, be sure to do something that you really want to do, use your talent. Qualify yourself as a person who represents who you are and be passionate about it.

Passion helps to express your talent in the best way with the best quality. If you are good at something and you practice a little bit, you know you’re not very passionate about it and there are people in your city that have the same talent as you and work it every day, study it every day and they will surpass you, you understand. If you are good at some things, practice, dont think that’s acquired and your talent can help to take care of your life.

What do you want to do in your life, you can do it, but be sure it’s somethings that people in the society can benefit, do it. If you are good to make videos game and that it’s beneficial for people of society and that arguments of your « why » are good, go ahead.

For me, it’s fitness I like to help people become stronger mentally, physically and spiritually. Find what you love to do and immerse yourself in, learn all about it. And if there is something you don’t know about it, you know that there are resources to find the correct information and once you found it, give this information to people. You understand when you do that, your passion become your profession.

Focuses you on your passion, on your excellent talent, cultivate it, be passionate about it. More you will be passionate, more you express yourself better with people about it and people will see the purity that you have in. Find what you love to do in your life and your professional career can be something cool, it can be something that you really want to do. Why not ? I have friends who make a lot of money but they don’t like their jobs and it makes them sad.

You have the opportunity to do that ! It’s true, we want to go to the club, to go out with girls but listening what is most important now ! Your idea is to go party now and work hard later. Do the opposite, work hard now when you’re full of energy and go to party later.

Being independent is a really good opportunity and don’t be afraid to do something your entourage had never did. Those who take risks, take calculated risks and they become very successful people in their lives. If you want a safe and quiet lifestyle, do it. I don’t want to prevent it, people live well like that. But if you want to be part of successful people, you have to take risks. Nothing spectacular happens when you don’t take risks, you have to trust you at 100%.
