What’s up ? This is THE stephane ANDRE !!! I watched an Olivier Roland’s video and I learned some good stuff.

When we have company, we read customer reviews to improve the products/services. But we have a way of thinking that can hinder the company’s evolution. Here is an example, for a product the are 10 positive reviews and 1 negative review. The problem is that the entrepreneurs will think 1000 times more about the negative review rather than 10 reviews positive.

To change this way of thinkging, it’s necessary to understand that this is part of human nature. We have been educated by evolution to focus more on negative things than positive things. And yes, our ancestors lived in an unstable environment during the vast majority of the existence of the human being. Here are some examples :

  1. Our ancestors were very attentive to the elements that were partially negative. They could be very happy, have a great day but they had to pay attention to the powerful animals that could, by surprise, kill them.
  2. Our ancestors had to pay attention to the disputes that had in the village because these disputes could deteriorate the village’s stability. This can result in creating friction that undermines trust in terms of collaboration for survival.
  3. Our ancestors were never satisfied with their situation and this motivated them to improve their lifestyle through science.

As you’ve seen, this is a way of thinking that we have in human nature and there are some tips to avoid being obsessed with these negative reviews. I propose 3 solutions :

  • Ignore them. The more negative reviews you see, the more you’ll be desensitized to that. It’s not very complicated because if your company is working well, you have few negative reviews.
  • Delegate the management of reviews to a member in your company. This allows you to avoid being on the front line in the emotional impact to be less affected. It’s true, this solution have a problem. It creates distance between the entrepreneur and the customers feedbacks. It’s for this reason that it’s recommended to set up a procedure for the member who handles the reviews saying : « From now on, it’s you who manages the reviews. The thing I would like you to do is that you only transfer negative constructive reviews to me ». Negative constructive reviews are the criticisms where you see the urge to help.
  • Create an email address only for positive reviews. For example, you can name this email : « positivereviews@yourCompanyName.com » and tell to the person who manages the reviews that each time he/she receive a positive reviews, he/she send it to this email. You can also tell to this person to make a screenshot of a positive review from social media and send it to this email.

With this email address, you create the email of happiness. This will be useful for moments of demotivation and doubt. If, for example, there is an negative reviews that makes you feel bad and you think about it several hours later, you can log on this email, read positive reviews and realize that you’re doing a good job. It’s really a special feeling to know that you’re changing the lives of many people. It’s really fantastic and it allows you to relativize.

It’s possible to make a combination of the 3 solutions. It means, you force yourself to read the negative reviews to desensitize you ; you delelgate part of the process to manage the reviews ; you create a magical email as a psychological support.

These solutions allow you to put things in their place so that you don’t get overwhelmed by negative emotions.

Trick To Be More Productive

Have you ever finished a day completely exhausted and after analysis, have the impression of having accomplished nothing ?

Don’t worry, it has happened to me and it happens to everyone a few times. The truth is that it’s important to understand that there is a difference between being productive and being busy. It’s really something that you have to remember often.

To be busy

Here is an example, imagine that you spend all day pushing a building with hands. It’s serious, you really want to move the building. It’s obvious that at the end of the day, you’ll be very tired but the building will not move.

You’ll have to spend a lot of energy, give a lot of effort but the results are negative, the building did not move a millimeter. In fact the efforts you make aren’t systematically correlated to the results you will get.

With the building’s example, it’s easy to understand that this task destined for failure but with the activities of every day, it’s more complicated to identify.

Let’s use another example. Imagine that you spend all day pushing a block of stone on the sand. At the end of the day, the block of stone will have been moved a little bit (and this is a better result than with the building). But is there a way to move this block of stone faster ? Yes, with a crane, it’s more efficient and it takes less effort. It’s true that finding a crane requires a lot of energy and time, but the crane allows you to have better results more impressive. With the crane, you can move the block of stone in 30 minutes to the destination.

To be productive

Often the methods to be productive requires a lot of effort and you have the impression to build nothing, but when the methods are put in place, it will give you continuous results without asking you a lot of effort.

Today, after my training, I spoke with a gym employee about blogs. He wondered why I had a blog because for him blog are dead. It’s true that blogs are less fashionable than videos and it’s true that a blog takes years to have an interesting traffic to build a company.

But what he doesn’t see and what the majority of people don’t see is that if the content of the blog has no expiration date, 5-20 years later, your blog’s content will have always value and will be usable. If yo create content based on news, 2 months after your content is no longer valuable and no longer usable.

And it must be added that the blog’s mailing list is more efficient than social media’s subscribers when it comes to promoting your product/service. It also makes me think that since 2005, every year, people say email is dead, ahhaha haahahah.

Vision

It’s not easy to realize that we’re busy instead of being productive and it depends on our perception. By having a clear vision of what you want, you create a company that is at the service of your life rather than your life at the service of your company. Creating content with no expiration date to educate people is my vision. On internet, one of the keys to success is to be able to create the maximum content without expiration date to not be dependent on fashion phenomens.

With this vision, it helps you identify when you’re busy and when you’re productive. This skill allows you to search for what is most effective to reach your vision. At first, there are things that you consider effective and they’re not and vice versa. The process to reach your vision is to explore new things to move forward and grow.

An Extraordinary Tool To Solve All Your Problems

Nature has given an extraordinary tool to every human being. This tool has different performance depending on the people but it’s the best for solving problems compared to the tools invented by humans.

This tool is our brain. This tool is better than a computer because a computer needs a human to work. For now, artificial intelligence has lower performance than the human brain.

Unfortunately, many of us don’t use our brains to find solutions and solve problems that are important to us. Many of us consume a lot of distractions. The question is : « Are we asking enough questions to our brain to find solution ? ». If you don’t give problems to your brain, your brain will be less and less efficient. It’s the same principle for your body.

If you give junk food to your body all day long, you will be fat, bitter, you will not have any more energy, you will not have any more libido. Everything that will comes out of you brain will be diminished in quality and quantity. If you will give healthy food to your body all day long, you will be slim, you will have more energy, you will have a better libido. Everything that comes out of your brain will be increased in quality and quantity.

Training your brain

To improve the brain to solve problems, it’s necessary to ask questions. A question is the interface between our brain and reality. This is what will put the brain in mode : « search for solutions ». By asking questions, you will look for different angles of approach to deal with the problem. The better the question and the better the solution to the reality of the world.

To have a good quality of question, it’s necessary to learn to educate oneself with books, trainings, meeting people who share their experiences, etc. Realize that you have to dedicate time to solve problems, allows you to organize your days. It’s like dedicating a few hours in your day to play sports. There is a method that I advise you to test, it’s to have a diary.

Attention, it’s a special diary because you’ll ask yourself questions. The first thing is that you’ll tell events of your life and this will allow you to better understand them and better understand yourself. And the second thing is that you’re going to ask yourself questions. There will be general questions like: «  How can I become happier ? ». And more specific questions like : « How can I become happier with the 80/20’s law (Pareto’s principle)  from today and see a measurable result next week ? ».

With questions, you put your brain in mode : « search for solutions » and you find several ideas to test to solve the problem. It’s the human process to find a solution since first hominids. Imagine, millions years ago, first hominids already found solutions because of a constraint. Imagine this scene, a hominid finds an animal with a carapace that is dead. The hominid is hungry and seeing the animal dead, he’s even more hungry. He asks himself this question : « How can I eat this animal that I can’t eat ? ». His brain goes into mode : « search for solutions ». After a few minutes, he remembers that by tapping a stone on something, the stone become sharper. After several tests, he manages to cut the animal with a carapace that dead to eat it.

This human process is a virtuous circle. You ask yourself questions to find solutions to problems. These solutions create other constraints that lead to others problems. So you have to ask yourself other questions to find a solutions. To evolve, we need challenges and there are always challenges in the world. Do you realize that millions of years ago, first hominids created tools with stones and wood and today we have internet technology ? With internet, people from distant country can read my blog’s articles 24/24 7/7, it’s incredible.

Among these questions, there will always be questions that will have different answers depending on what the situation you’re in your life. For example the question : « How can I become happier ? ». When you’re single, you have a solution. When you’re in a relationship, you have another solution and when you have children, you have another different solution. Solutions are influenced by different variants in your life and it’s important to ask yourself this question throughout your life.

Reserve some time in you day to ask yourself questions to solve problems. It’s a kind of physical activity for your brain. It’s a good process to become a better version of yourself. But beware, there are solutions that you will find quickly and others, it will be necessary to work on for months or years to find the solution.

P90X, Insanity, Weight Watchers, Shakology And Nutrisystem (part 2)

I read a Nerd Fitness article  and there is good stuff.

There is more than 1 million fitness product and diet system. This is what I think of certain.

Shakeology

Replace one of your meal each day with a shake. Shakeology’s shake pretend have « 70 nutritious ingredients to help to detox and protect the body of free radical damage and help against food carving and help to have a healthy libido » ».

Advantages

Like Nutrisystem and Weight Watchers, Shakeology is simple. Replace a meal with a shake and lose weight. I didn’t try but people say it taste good and it has a good source of protein and a nice amount of protein per shake with a little sugar.

If you travel, it’s easy to have a little shakeology’s powder to drink it to replace a meal.

Disadvantages

I don’t suprise people lose weight with this plan if they follow it exactly. They replace a meal (around 500-1000 calories) with a Shakeology’s shaker which is only 120-160 calories. It’s a reduction of caloric intake of 380-780 calories. Remember, just 500 calories less per day can have as result to lose 0.45kg (1lbs) per week.

For me, a meal of 120 calories is not good because you will be not satiated and not satisfied.

What happens when you don’t have Shakeology’s powder ou you don’t have acces to a blender or you’re traveling. Can you continue to consume the same amount of calories and maintain the same nutritious plan ?

Shakeology is good for people who want lose 4.5kg (10lbs) without changing lifestyle. It’s only for short term.

Juice cleanses

Stop to eat and drink this juice during 3-10 days to detox your body and lose weight. There is a million of juice cleanses, the concept is to not eat and replace all meals by a juice of fruits or/and vegetables.

Advantages

Instead to eat food, you just going to drink liquid calories all day. Because you don’t eat a lot of carb and sodium ( because you don’t eat solid food), you can lose a huge amount of water. Losing water can cause weight loss but it’s temporary. It’s not like losing fat !

You will eat more fruits and vegetable than usual.

Disadvantages

I think during these 3 days where you will not eat foods, you will ve miserable. You will just drink some fruits/vegetabels juices instead meals. You will essentialy drink sweet water with fibers.

The most of weights you will lose during these 3 days will be water according to the amount of carbs, grains and sodium that you consume usually. This weight loss is false because it’s only water.

When you will eat solid foods, the weight will quickly return.

If you want to a detox, take some days to eat a lot of protein, spinard, broccoli and cauliflower. If you want make real change in your life, read the next.

Exercice and diet

Instead to buy some powder’s shake, receive foods at home or replace solid foods by liquid, there is a philosophy named « Exercice and diet ».

No need to buy some weird stuff but it requires make changes in your lifestyle. The goal is to move more than stay seated and eat more real foods than processed foods.

Advantages

Every sytem talked before are solutions to short term. « Exercice and diet » is done to change the lifestyle for all life.

Instead to dramatically change how you eat and move during 3 months, you must change small things which will have long term results.

  • Rather to do exercice with a DVD during 90 minutes everydays, start with a walk,

  • Rather to count points or receive foods at home, study to cook and eat real foods.

  • Rather than being dependent on something to have success, be independent to have success.

« Exercice and diet » is the best to have long term results, to have results for life. If you’re traveling you know the different type of foods, you know how to eat healthy outside home. If you don’t have access to a blender or you can’t receive foods at home, you know how to cook a basic meal. If you can’t use a DVD player, you can do a complete bodyweight training session in a room or in a park.

« Exercice and diet » doesn’t ask you to spend a lot of money or buy fancy stuff or buy pre-prepared foods. It doesn’t ask you to have several hyper strict weeks and once it’s over, back to old habits. People make me laugh when I see them before summer, during summer and after summer. Rather that you have a new version of you (like updates) : healthy and happy !

Disadvantages

The big « Exercice and diet » disadvantages is that requires commitment and changes. No shake, no foods receive at home, no DVD but instead you must take of your health.

There is also another challenge to have long term change in your diet. Eat cookies, cakes and muffins are bad for you. You need to change this to see results.

It’s simple to learn but difficult to apply for people who search short term results. Everybody know we need to do more exercices and stop to eat junk foods but we can’t force our brain to do this. It’s for this reason we need to educate ourselves about willpower.

Results aren’t instantaneous like a click. « Exercice and diet » results can often take several months of change before seeing solid results.

Lost In Getting Healthy

You already heard this : « Life, isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon ». Do you think is right ? Me, I think life is a special labyrinth.

In the game of life, we must find a way to be have a better life and to find a way to use all our potential.

When we try to change a lot of things, it’s hard to adapt it all. Change take time and think about a marathon reassurring us.

But, a marathon means with each step, we go forward. We will finish the marathon with this process, it’s certain.

In life and in the quest to have a better lifestyle, there is a lot of unexpected events. Intead to think your journey is like a marathon where you know all the difficulties in advance, think life is a labyrinth that change all the time.

If your quest to have a better lifestyle was like a marathon, it would be like that :

  • I tried to lose weight and I failed. I’m a loser and I will never reach my goals.

  • I can’t eat healthy foods. Something is wrong with me

  • I tried a training one time and I didn’t like it. Training isn’t for me.

  • I applied for this job I wanted and I didn’t have it. I’m condemned to have a miserable life.

Instead of this, you’re in a labyrinth with your goals in center. You will find deadlocks and this doesn’t means you’re an incompetent person. They’re simply paths that don’t work.

  • I tried to lose weights and I failed – I will try again with a new tactic. I will do it again with a different way. The last time, I tried to count calories. This time, I will only focus to eat a better foods.

  • I tried a training one time and I didn’t like it – I will do a different type of training that seems to please me.

  • I applied for this job I wanted and I didn’t have it – Well, I need to change my tactic and stand out differently for the next job.

Fight your stubbornness

I thank video games to push us to make challenges and we don’t have any problems to dedicate thousands of hours to push « continue » to win.

However, this stubbornness and this devotion can be a blessing,but they can be a curse about be healthy.

Sometimes you will be guide to a bad path. When you continue in a deadlock you waste your time and you get away from your goals.

Often our obstinacy force us to lose our path because we have already started a wrong path. Let’s see :

  • We force ourselves to count our calories and to run more often when this don’t give us results. And we give up quickly this strategy every time. Change the strategy with a strenght training and eat only clean foods.

  • We stay in a deadlock with the job because we got our degree and we think we should do. This is the « good enough » syndrome and this is very very dangerous. Change it, we’re better than this.

  • We stay in a unhealty relationship because we’re together so long and we accepted to have a miserable relationship. We need to realize we deserve to be happy and we need to take care of ourselves.

Sometmes take a new direction is the better thing than you can do. Not because you give up what you do, but instead you give up a bad thing and this allow you to focus all your efforts to the good path.

Lost in the labyrinth

In labyrinths, there is always a moment where you must choose between three paths and you don’t know which one choose.

In life, there are times where you don’t know which paths choose and it’s stressing.

The worst thing you can do is to sit and complain because you don’t know what to do. Information can help you to choose. Educate yourself to choose the good direction.

« May be I must do this training or this type of training or this style of training ? »

« May be I must do this diet or this nutritional plan or this one ? »

Instead of remaining paralyzed, here how to do :

  • Do research to determine which path is better than others. Each path have its own characteristics and there certain that you would like to avoid.

  • Choose a path for a reason. With a litte research, you see which path you like most. Whatever the reason, choose a path and start as soon as possible.

  • Give yourself a chance to have a little result to test a path. When you’re lost, you leave mark on walls to leaves traces to don’t do the same mistake. If the path don’t work, you need to know. Test for 2 weeks a training and look if you have results. Test for 2 weeks a diet and look if you have results. If this don’t work, do again this process with a different training and a different type of diet.

You can’t save the world and you can’t finish the labyrinth while sitting. Do research and take a logical decision can help the processus but sometimes you have to act.

  • The life is a labyrinth very very difficult to solve. People who say they understood everything in life are liars.

  • When you have several choices, educate yourself the more you can and choose a path.

  • When you find a deadlock, mark it in your list and try a different path.

  • Courage and determination are important to have victory. With enough perseverance to test different paths to find the good path, you continue and find your goals in the center of the labyrinth.

Start. Don’t feel guilty when you’re in a deadlock, try new paths.
