There is an interesting book by Mark Levy named Accidental Genius . This book explains a method to unleash your creativity and brain’s power to find solutions to your problems.

This book doesn’t speak to the fact that supposedly we use only 10% of our brain but rather that we underestimate an important thing, write what we think. When we think without written support, we deprive ourselves of an enormous source of structuring thoughts. Our thoughts go further and more structured when we think in writing than when we think in our head and we forget those thoughts very quickly.

Unfortunately, there is a difficulty. It’s that we write very slow compared to the speed we think. But Mark Levy has a method to overcome this difficulty, it’s free writing.

Choose a problem that takes your head, take a piece of paper or open a document on your computer and start writing all that happens in your head.

For exemple, if you wan to start a company, the problem can be : « how can I start a profitable company as soon as possible ? ». Like a brainstorming, you write a maximum of idea in a minimum of time. To ease this process, ,you write without paying attention to grammar, vocabulary, syntax, punctuation, etc. You write with lots of mistakes to make it fluid. Anyway, you don’t write for someone, you write for yourself so you can let go, write whatever you want.

When you have a moment where you block, keep writing. You can write 40 times the same word, it doesn’t matter. As you continue to write, you will force your brain to find other ideas and to return to the flow of thoughts. It’s advisable to do this for 10 minutes.

I tested this method and it’s surprising but I have to use it more often to develop this skill. What I like with this method is that I can use it for all areas of my life and it takes 10 minutes in the day.

What’s up ? This is THE stephane ANDRE !!! I watched an Olivier Roland’s video and I learned some good stuff.

I discovered what it was an infopreneur by reading Tim Ferriss‘s book « 4-Hour Workweek ». It was a book that was recommended in a personal development’s blog and this book has completely changed my way of seeing a « job ». This is definitely a point of view that we don’t learn at school, even at business school.

The profession of infopreneur is a very interesting profession and evolves all the time because of new technologies. In fact, if you don’t know, an infopreneur is a person who earns money on internet with information products. These information products aren’t news but they’re information to help people achieve a goal on a specific area.

What is special about this job is that we enable people to be more effective in things that are important to them and the result is that they’re happier.

Workplace

One of the advantage of this job is geographical freedom. The company is based on internet, which means that you only need a computer and an internet connection to work. There is no obligation to go to a workplace, you can work every day in a different place or in a different country as long as you have access to an internet connection. There are more and more jobs that allow you to have this freedom like programmer, virtual assistant, bookkeeper, data entry, copy writing, translator, travel agent, transcriber, etc.

It’s a profitable business because selling information on internet makes it easier to reach a large number of people with little money.

Imagine how it was to sell a book before the invention of printing. Even if you had written the best book in the world, it was hard to live on it. Imagine, so that 2000 people can read your book, you needed 2000 handwritten copies of your book. Copying books was not a really cool job, so you can imagine how complicated it was. If you offer me a job that consists of copying 2000 books of 300 pages, I’ll answer you : « No, thanks !!! ».

With the invention of printing, authors started earning more mony because more people could read their books and that to increase later with the invention of copyrights.

With digital books (ebooks), it’s possible to sell 100 or 1 000 000 books without the huge costs of printing, distribution, storage and return management. There are still costs but they’re very low for the servers and the support (for example a client didn’t receive the email to download the ebook).

With internet, it give you the opportunity to manage the distribution of your information products yourself. Before internet, you had to have an appointment with a manager of a radio, television to reach as many people as possible. If this manager liked your work, you could have ads on radio, television but if this manager didn’t like your work, no ads.

Many talented people couldn’ have a great exposure to make known their talent because of these « Gatekeepers ». Internet allows you to no longer need to these gatekeepers to reach a large number of people.

Mindset To Create Your Company

There is a simple trick to create your internet company. This trick allows you to have the sweetest change possible between your school/job and your job as an entrepreneur. This trick is to consider your company as an experience.

See your internet company as an experiment modifies your state of mind. Here’s how you see your company with this state of mind :

  • Your life isn’t wasted if you can’t create a profitable company to live the live of your dreams.
  • Creating a internet company doesn’t demand a large amount of resources. You don’t need to make a huge investments and spend a lot of money. Before increasing your expenses, you have to decrease your uncertainty by having a product or service that clients buy regularly. Once you have your 1000 loyal clients, you can go to the next step.   • The best situation is to create and develop your internet company next to your school/job. I advise you to take measured risks, evolve with baby steps and make changes smoothly. With this strategy, you’re not afraid to start. For me, stopping your school/job to create your internet company isn’t a good strategy because if this company doesn’t work, you will not have the opportunity to create another later. It’s extremely rare for a person to start a company that works really well the first time.

Passion

You know, there’s a secret to not bieng afraid to start an internet company. It’s to create a project that really motivates you. A project that makes you want to work on it, a project that is so rewarding that you no longer want to play video games or watch videos (Youtube, Netflix, etc).

With this mindset of considering internet company’s creation as an experience, it allows you to learn a lot of things. It doesn’t matter whether the company working or not, because you’re learning new things about yourself, human relations and entrepreneurship.

When you start an internet company, it’s important that you achieve several goals. Here are the goals of my blog :

  • Motivate me to have an athlete body like Men’s Physique.
  • If I can’t make this blog a profitable internet company, I know that everything I learned in the creation and development of this blog is interesting knowledge that I could apply in a new internet company.
  • Create a community around this idea of doing sports to be healthy mentally and physically.
  • Make this blog a profitable internet company.

Having a list of several goals is great because if you fail 1-2 of these goals, you still have the opportunity to achieve the goals that remain.

Create A Company In A Hyper Competitive Market

People often tell me that they want to create a blog, a Youtube channel or a company but the market is very competitive and they wonder if it’s worth it. It’s true that in markets like personal development, fitness or photography, these are markets where you will not start in the same way as in a market where there is little competition.

It’s not because the market is hypercompetitive that you have no chance. The main thing is to differentiate yourself from others and to allow people to connect with you. That’s what happened to me a few months ago. I was looking for podcasts on fitness and I found Shrugged Collective . But I didn’t like the guys voice so I changed to The Model Health Show  and I like this podcast. These 2 podcasts are listened to by thousands (or millions) people and what is important to understand is that these podcasts can’t please everyone, it’s impossible.

There are people who will like what you do and there are people who will hate what you do. This is why there is a place for everyone. In theory, you can offer exactly the same product/service as many other people in a market but there are people who will buy your products/services rather than others because people have more feelings with you.

Shrugged Collective and The Model Health Show are the same thing, they’re podcasts about fitness. What makes the difference isn’t the content (because now, a lot of people make good content) but the podcast’s voice. The question you ask yourself when you’re listening a podcast is : « Am I going to spend hours and hours listening to that voice and that kind of elocution ». It’s the same with companies, especially on internet when you do Personal Branding (reputation) when you allow your audience to connect with you.

Have Your Own Authentic Style

It’s like in everyday life, there are people who will like and others who will hate you because we’re human beings. When you buy a computer or a smartphone, who will you buy it from ? You’ll buy it from people you like the most and it’s normal.

Of course, having your own authentic style isn’t the only way to differentiate yourself. But attention, it’s not because people like you that you’ll automatically have a business that works. It’s necessary to have an idea that has economic potential. What I have noticed is that people neglect the importance of connecting with the audience, the community or the clients.

I know there are people following me because they have a good feeling with me and not with my competitors. And others have a good feeling with my competitors and not with me. It’s not a problem, it’s normal, it’s human and it’s part of life.

Don’t be afraid to enter a market with hypercompetitiveness, there is always a place for you. In this case, it’s necessary to realize that it will be difficult to make your place in a competitive environment. It’s difficult because you should be in a market where there are behemoths. But the advantage of a competitive market is that you know it’s a profitable market because there are already a lot of people living on it.

When Your Internet Company Is Not Working

Here are some tips to improve your situation if you want to have an internet company or you already have an internet company. These principles are basically intended for infopreneurs, it means selling information products (ebook and online training) but over time all companies should use these principles to boost their reputations.

In an internet company, there are 3 pillars : traffic, authority and relation.

Traffic

This is the number of people who visit your website and your entire ecosystem (social media – instagram, youtube, facebook, snapchat, twitter, etc.).

Authorities

This is the way your audience sees you as an expert. You can be an excellent expert and not know how to communicate, so your audience sees your expertise at a level below your actual expertise. And it can also have the opposite situation where your audience sees your expertise at a level higher than your real expertise. In this case, you’re a crook !

Relation

This is the level where your audience appreciates you as a human being rather than a company.

What is interesting to do is to note where you think you are in the 3 pillars (traffic, authority and relation) from 1 to 10. « 1 » is the person who has just started and « 10 », is the person who is one of the best infopreneurs in the world like Gary Vaynerchuk  or Casey Neistat .

Don’t hesitate to ask people you know to have a more objective point of view. The ideal is a close friend who is really interested in your company and who understands what you’re doing. Ask this friend : « What rating would you give me between 1 and 10 ? Go ahead, be frank, you don’t need to spare my ego ! ». With an outside eye, it will help you find the problem.

It’s possible that you have a huge traffic on your website but if people don’t perceive you as an expert who has enough experience to help them and they don’t like you (they perceive you more like a salesman as a human being), they will not buy your products and services.

Conversion rate

This concerns the conversion rate between your traffic and the people who sign up for your email list. People who sign up for your email list are people who are really interested in what you’re doing and who want receive the free gift you are offering (ebook or exclusive video). People who subscribe to your email list have given you permission to contact them through their email knowing they can unsubscribe at any time.

What it interesting to do is to note where you think to be in your conversion rate from 1 to 10 ? For example, when there are 100 people visiting your website, how many are subscribed to your email list ? If you rate is 0, you’re not offering any interesting gifts or you’re not making a call to action for your email list. In these cases, you have to work on it to offer a better free gift or tell people that they can sign up for your email list.

We must know that today, email remains the most effective way to contact people and it will remain so for a long time. Attention, that doesn’t mean that when you send an email thanking for the loyalty of your subscribers or a promotional email for a product/service, you shouldn’t also talk about that in your ecosystem (social media) with a video, a picture, a post on different platforms.

It’s important to know that if you’re doing content marketing and your company is based on the free content you create, you need at least a 5% conversion rate. If you do below that, you have work to do to improve your conversion rate.

It’s possible that you don’t have a product or service to sell or like me at the beginning, I sold a product but there are only 5 people who bought it. In this case, you can do a survey with the people who are on your email list to find out what is the problem they would like to settle as quickly as possible. With this method, you’ll soon be able to create a profitable product because you solve the main problem of you audience. Attention, it’s necessary that you have 1000 people subscribed on your email list to make this survey.

Coaching

This is one of the simplest ways you can make money. It doesn’t matter if you have more than 1000 people on your email list. When we start an internet company, it’s the easiest thing to do. You offer your skills as a service to your audience. With a small audience, a good authority and a good relation, you’ll have people who will be interested to work with you by doing coaching sessions on Skype, for example.

Ebook

If you’re a person who likes to write (like me), you can create an ebook that you can sell between USD 17.- and 27.- to start earning some money.

Action

We could talk about this for hours because every situation is different. I don’t know your situation but by following these advices, you will be able to improve your company’s situation, so ACTION.

Many people are wondering how to find the content to publish on a blog or a Youtube channel. Before creating my blog, I was also asking this question and maybe you’re asking yourself this question today.

You want to create a blog or a Youtube channel for several reasons. And I think one of the reasons is that you want to build your own company. In this case, I advise you that your content is influenced by these 3 things :

  • Passion – It must be a subject that fascinates you.

  • Skill – It would be nice if it’s something you already have skills in.

  • Economic potential – If your idea has no economic potential, you will not be able to build your own company.

There is something surprising with the economic potential. It’s possible to create a profitable blog or Youtube channel on a subject that doesn’t interest you. For example, there is a person who has a blog to teach math to help students in school to pass their exams. This person isn’t passionate about mathematics but it’s not something he hates. I know that in few years, he will stop this company even if it works well because he will have lost motivation. And that happens often when it’s not a passion.

This case is an exception because it’s very difficult to succeed when you aren’t in a subject that fascinates you. Statistics show that 95% of bloggers give up after 6 months. These are statistics from « Meta-blogs Technorati » which based on millions of blog creations.

I really advise you to create the content on one of your passions otherwise you finish in the 95% of people who give up after 6 months. Outside regulated areas like medicine, you can create a blog in an area where you don’t have skills and learn little by little. You can do that but you have to be transparent about your skills to your audience.

That’s what I do. I had no knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics in sport when I started publishing articles. Everyday I do my research and I learn little by little. The best example is Data Science. I had no knowledge, I paid for a class and I show you what I’m learning and I have not finished this class yet. At the beginning of my articles, you see my sources and that’s my strength.

Which means that you can’t be passionate and have no skill at the start. But it’s not possible to have a profitable blog or Youtube channel if the sector where you start has no economic potential.

To find out if you sector has an economic potential, there are several criteria to check :

  • Are there forums or Facebook groups on this topic ?

    If you find forums or Facebook groups on the subject that you want to do, it’s because there are people who spend several minutes every day discussing this subject. These people are likely to visit your blog or Youtube channel, if you share the content that may interest them.

  • Are there already blogs or Youtube channels on this subject ?

    If you find blogs or Youtube channels that have existed for several years and with a large number of subscribers, it’s that you can become one of their competitors.

  • Are there many people who are passionnate about this ?

    Creating a profitable blog or Youtube channel is like create a company, it’s necessary to do a market research. What is interesting today is that it’s possible to do this with internet. Search on internet your future competitors and analyze them.

There are still a dozen criteria but with these 3 criteria, you’ll have a good base to select your passion that has the best economic potential to create your company with a blog or a Youtube channel.

It’s true that a frequent question, how to optimize taxation when we start a company.

It’s extremely simple. Here are the 3 most important steps to do when we create a company :

  • First step => sell

  • Second step => sell

  • Third step => sell

The only thing that is important is to find customers who are willing to pay for your products/services. Everything else is superfluous.

Spend all your days looking for ways to pay as little tax as possible or have a Zen office to stimulate your creativity or create your website with the best design in the world, all this is superfluous. This is intelligent procrastination.

To grow your company, you need to find customers in the most efficient way possible.

Be profitable

The truth is that you’re going to ask yourself how you can optimize your taxes when you ask yourself: « Wow, I’m paying too much taxes now, I need to improve that ! ». When you ask yourself this, you’ll have ways to pay a specialist’s service. And it will also mean that your company is profitable, which is excellent.

It’s normal for an entrepreneur to minimize costs as much as possible to make the company profitable. But taxes shouldn’t be an obsession because it can make you forget the company’s mission. Your company isn’t profitable because you pay the minimum taxes. Your company is profitable because of the added value of your products/services.

So when you start your company, the 3 most important things are to sell, sell, and sell to have a profitable company.
