A personal trainer who is in the gym where I’m training ask me how to give courses online. But when he asked me this question, I noticed that he didn’t believe it or maybe it wouldn’t work with him. In the personal trainer business, there is part that is an intellectual service. What I mean is that there is a part of this job, which is to give people advice so they can improve.

All the skills that give advice can be turned into a product (information product). There is a huge challenge for personal trainers and service providers who trade their time for money. How to make more money (because there is a lot of competition) while a person can’t be in several places at the same time physically ?

The trick is that instead of explaining the same thing to someone 1000 times, you write a book/ebook, you makes videos or your do an online training program. With these supports, it allows you to save time on repetitive tasks and automate a part of your income.

Some might think that this method doesn’t work with all types of service providers, but with the technologies evolution, it’s changing. We find online training program for salsa, golf, guitar, boxing, mma, auto mechanics, plumber, etc. do some research on Google or DuckDuckGo and see.

I often meet entrepreneurs who do their own accounting and they say it’s a nightmare. Here are the 2 reasons why I advise them to stop :

  1. Accounting requires a lot of time.

  2. It’s extremely easy to make a mistake. Even certified public accountants make mistakes. The problem when there is an error in your accounting is that all the numbers are wrong. And when all the numbers are wrong, you tax return is false and when your tax return is false, you are in a long-term nightmare.

It’s possible to find a good accountant for around $1 200 a year when you start a company. It’s always better to pay that than to be in a financial nightmare for 5 years because of a mistake in your tax return.

What’s cool is that with WordPress and its free plugins and themes, it’s easy to install and manage a blog / website. There are also other platforms that allow you to do the same thing.

On the other hand, when there is a major problem that exceeds your skills, it can be negative for your company. For example,your blog / website no longer responds. At the beginning, it’s important to do customer support yourself to be in direct contact with the audience to see the problems in services or products, etc. But that doesn’t mean that customer support is the best added value task that the company’s founder can do.

With customer support, you will quickly see that there are often the same questions that are asked. To eliminate much of the customer support is to make a FAQ. A FAQ is the list of questions most frequently asked with a reply.

For other questions that are a little more complex that are are common, you can do a procedure to explain to the people who take care of your customer service how to solve the problem. And you can ask them to inform you when a question is frequently asked to have a permanent feedback. This allow you to stay in touch with reality.

Maybe someone around you knows a good customer support provider or maybe you need to find one on Upwork. Test this customer service provider with a small task to find out if her is competent or not.

Since you have a blog or a website, you have an audience. This audience sends you messages when you create content. This is the same principle as for customer support, it’s important at the beginning that you answer the messages yourself to discover your audience. You will know the fears and the hopes of your audience. It’s important that you learn how to communicate with your audience.

To find out what things to delegate, you need to be aware of seeing where you bring the most added value to your company as a founder, it’s about innovation, strategy and setting up processes. This allows you to work on your company and not work in your company.

It’s important to know the difference between working on your company and working in your company (being a slave to your company).

To start, a little explanation of dropshipping. Dropshipping is to entrust most of your logistics to an external service provider or to make it simpler, you outsource your logistics. This is a concept proposed by Tim Ferriss in his book « 4 hours workweek ».

The most famous dropshipping provider in the world is Amazon with its service « fulfillment by Amazon »  Here is how it works, you reference your product in Amazon’s catalogue, you order your product from your supplier by telling to your supplier to send the product to an Amazon’s center.

As you see Amazon takes care of the storage of your products. Now when a person buys your product on Amazon, it’s Amazon that handles delivery to the final customer and billing. Of course, Amazon takes a commission that is about 30 % of the sale price. Yes, that’s it, so you have to pay attention to your profit margin.

Today there are more and more people who create dropshipping companies to buy products to import on Alibaba. They do market research on the internet, they do tests and sell these products on Amazon USA, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, etc.

Amazon helps you for your logistics and find new customers and it’s really cool but don’t be naive. If Amazon changes its algorithms, your sales can decrease. To avoid this situation, you have to do your own marketing. An excellent strategy is to create content with a blog, a Youtube channel or another social media.

The idea is to create content to create a community. For example, if you sell fitness accessories, you create content about fitness to create a fitness community. Content allows you to have fans. You build a community and your mission is to help people in your community to reach their goals. And that makes the difference between you and your competitor.

If you’re interested in creating a dropshipping company, the first step you need to do is to train yourself by reading books, watching video on Youtube and participating in online or offline training. Here, now it’s up to you to hustle.

Social Media Icons For Your Blog

In my blog (WordPress), I had installed a plugin to share my blog posts with social media. This plugin was Share This . Since I installed a plugin to display my lastest pictures from Instagram on my blog, I was wondering how I could do to have icons so that people could share my content and subscribe on my social networks.

After doing a Google search to know the best rated WordPress plugins, I discovered Ultimate Social Media Icons .

I just installed it and it’s really cool. Here is how it’s on my blog :

I installed this plugin with the « zip » file and I just discovered that they had added the function to install the plugin automatically in your blog. Well, I’ll show you how I did. If you installed the plugin automatically, go to the configuration phase.

Note : For the plugin works, it’s necessary that CURL is installed and activated on your server and a PHP version of 5.4 or above. If you don’t know, ask to your hosting provider or server admin.

Installation

  • I downloaded the « zip » file (compressed files) from WordPress website.

I use FileZilla  (it’s free) to transfer files to my server.

  • I copy « ultimate-social-media-icons » in the « wp-content/plugins » directory of my server:
