Effective Collaboration Email

I watched an Olivier Roland’s video  and there is good stuff.

How to do to have a collaboration with anyone by email ? You know successful people receive 100 emails per days and the most look like this :

I follow your blog and I discovered a passionate person. I send you this email because I would like to collaborate with you. I think my work and your work will be great together. My wife and me work about cognitive load to optimize learning for everything like school success. If you’re interessted, I can tell you more.

This email isn’t horrible but it is ineffective for a simple raison. This email is too unclear. A collabaration about what ? It’s to do an article ? An interview ? It’s too create a product together ?

When we send an email for a collaboration, we need to be very specific because people don’t time, they receive a lot of email. We must be short and clear. When we’re clear, we respect people’s time. If we don’t have any idea about collaboration’s type, take time to think about it.

I would like to make an interview with you for my blog because we talk about same subjects and I want to introduce you to my audience. We can use Skype for this interview and we can talk about your new book (or a product) if you want.

Here is something simple and clear. It’s important to explain what kind of collaboration is and what is the benefit for the guest. It’s important to prove this collaboration is « win-win ».

When you select the kind of collaboration, select the most simple to set up. Skype is easy to use for an interview.

It’s the same thing for people you met in event. Be short, simple and clear.

Winter is coming

Temperature went down and I ride my bike with my scarf, my woolly hat and my gloves. Everyone looks at me strangely but they are all about to cough or blow their nose. For me, no way of getting sick or catch cold.

I read a Nerd Fitness article about winter  and I want to share it with you.

Throughout the year, we must fight to keep our lifestyle. We do our exercises regularly to have a better physique, we make food choices to have a better health and we build healthy habits to have a better lifestyle.

The Matrix’s attacks

But when winter comes, The Matrix attacks us with an army :

  • Holidays are made for us to overeat with a culture that encourages us to eat too much sugar.

  • Shops make several discounts days to encourage us to buy things we’ll not use.

  • Parties at work or at home where we drink too much and eat too much junk food. With our colleagues or our friends tell us, « You have to live a little ! ».

  • Christmas or New Year week where we do nothing, we spend our time on the couch watching TV shows.

  • Our family and friends who encourage us to do the same as them because « it’s the holidays ! »

  • Winter is rain, snow, low temperatures and we prefer to stay warm at home rather than braving these elements of nature.

As you can see, we’re in the holiday season and the rest of the world will be overcome by the Matrix’s attacks by eating, drinking and buying. People will be paralyzed and they will not be able to protect their bodies until January 1st. This is why we must resist the Matrix’s attacks to protect our progress we have made with our bodies.

Do you take the control of your destiny and you want to have a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle that will make you die sooner ?

Tips to withstand attacks from the Matrix :

  • At least three training sessions per week and a healthy meal per day during the holidays. I don’t expect that you’re perfect because we’re often invited to eat but do your best.

  • Never misses tow training’s day in a raw. If you plan to train one day and you have to miss it because of travel or another reason, you train the next day. Each unhealthy meal will be followed by a healthy meal. No excuse, do it like champions.

  • The day after a big party is perfect to relax and eat a little more than usual healthy food.

  • The weather can’t be used as an excuse. It’s cold and it’s normal for this time of year. That’s why I put my scarf, my woolly hat and my gloves to go to the gym. No excuse !

This is the time to prepare for this war in this winter season. I’m sure you’ll win.

Strong Mind

I would like to talk about strong mind . There are certain principle that you must develop to have a strong mind.

A strong motivation and a strong desire to win or be successful

You need to believe in you. You need to have a great confidence in your ability to achieve your goals. Another thing, when you fail, you need to be able to recover from that to keep moving forward. You need to see your obstacles as potentials opportunities. Viewing a obstacle and see it as an exciting challenge. Be like « Okay, that look difficult but it will make me stronger when I will have succeeded ». Obstacles are springboards and opportunities to improve your attitude.

So don’t be discouraged, don’t be sorry for yourself, don’t be sorry for your friends. If someone made a mistake, let him know. Fix yourself, head up, chest up and back to work. There is no time to « Ooooh I don’t know why it happened blah blah blah ». No, no, no, you’re a strong person, you have a strong mindset. Don’t be overwhelmed by a negative situation, learn from your mistakes and good things will happen to you.

You have your conscience and your subconscious, your subconscious doesn’t differentiate between what is good and what is bad. It doesn’t understand this concept. Your subconscious takes what you give him and made it a reality. Some people call it the Secret, others prayers, no matter the name, it’s still the same way.

Put yourself in your mind that you are the boss and that you can handle any situation that happens. Don’t say you think do it, tell yourself that you do it. If you say to yourself « Oh, I don’t know, it’s too hard », you’re right, you will not succeed. You are always right, no matter what you tell to yourself, you’re right. If you tell to yourself you know you can do it, you’re right. If you say to yourself that you can’t do it, you’re right. It’s a cliché but life is exactly what you want to do.

So why not live like a boss. Be a lion in the jungle. Don’t be the wildebeest, be the predator. Become the king of your domain, control your own body, control your own mind. Control situations happens to you and being positive. When you really understand that, you’ve really got it and you are using it is better than having riches.

I’m not a very religious guy but I always admire King Solomon. King Solomon was like « I don’t want money or wealth, I want wisdom and I can get everything I need with wisdom ». That’s the thing.

Talking to yourself

There is another thing I do is talking to me myself. I know it sound crazy, especially when you do something very difficult, but it increases your self-esteem. This increases your self-esteem for a difficult task. Say to yourself « I can do it, I really can do it », it boost your self-confidence to achieve your goal.

This trick is not physical, it’s mental. Your mind can allow you to exceed the limits of your body. Put yourself in survival mode, get out of your comfort zone and you become stronger mentally, spiritually and physically.
