Your hands on the edge of a bench and your feet on another bench with you body in the void :

  • Inhale and flex your arms followed by an extension of your arms

  • Exhale at the end of the movement

This exercise works triceps, chest and anterior deltoid.

A weight can be put on your thighs to have more resistance during the movement.

Seated EZ-Bar Triceps Extensions

Sitting or standing, take the EZ-Bar with a pronated grip and your arms upright :

  • Inhale and flex your arms to bring them behind your neck

  • Back to the start position and exhale at the end of extension

The vertical position of arms stretches your long head of your triceps. This is help to pump your triceps.

In additional, the pronated grip work the lateral head of your triceps.

For safety reasons, don’t arch too much your back.

Seated Dumbbell Triceps Extensions

Sitting and you take the dumbbell with your two hands behind your neck :

  • Inhale and make an extension with your arms

  • Exhale at the end of the movement

The vertical position of the arm stretches the long head of the triceps to have a good contraction during work.

Note : The three head’s fiber of triceps muscles fit into a tendinous plate which is attached by a tendon to the olecranon. When triceps squeeze, the tendinous plate into the head’s fibers like a wooden plate sinking into butter. Squeezed muscle protrudes from the tendon plate creating this « horseshoe » form.

Standing with your legs slightly flexed. Your torso bent forward with your back straight. Your arm is horizontal along your body with your elbow flexed :

  • Inhale and make an extension of your arm

  • Exhale at the end of the movement

This exercise is excellent to pump your entire triceps.

To have better result, this exercise can be done with long sets until you feel your triceps burn.

One Arm Dumbbell Triceps Extension

Standing or sitting with a dumbbell in a hand and your arm in a vertical position :

  • Inhale and flex your arm to bring the dumbbell behind your neck.

  • Back to the start position and exhale at the end of the movement.

The vertical position of the arm stretches the long head of the triceps to have a good contraction during work.

Note : It’s important to squeeze your abs to avoid over-arching your back.

Dumbbell Triceps Extension

Lying on a bench with a dumbbell in each hand and arms in vertical :

  • Inhale and flex your arms by controlling the movement

  • Back to the start position and exhale at the end of the movement
